Their journey takes them on a cross-country road trip from Providence to Aspen, Colorado, filled with comedic mishaps and misunderstandings along the way. After a series of adventures involving car accidents, run-ins with criminals, and various other misfortunes, they finally arrive in Aspen only to find out that Mary is already engaged to someone else. Meanwhile, they unwittingly attract the attention of two dangerous criminals who want the money for themselves.
