Jessica Alba was born on April 28, 1981, and began her acting career at age 13 with roles in 'Camp Nowhere' (1994) and 'The Secret World of Alex Mack'. She gained prominence at age 19 as the lead actress in the TV series 'Dark Angel', for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. Alba's film breakthrough came with 'Honey' (2003). John Truscott travels to Borneo to work with the Iban people as part of the British colonial government. Upon his arrival, he is given a 'sleeping dictionary,' an local woman named Selima who is meant to help him learn their language and culture.
