ストーリー

Screen Two is a British television anthology series that began in 1985 as a response to Channel Four's innovative movie-making strategies for both television and theatrical release. The series was introduced by producer Kenith Trodd following his involvement with a BBC study team in 1984 to determine how the corporation should adapt to Channel Four's pioneering efforts. Screen Two, along with its counterpart Screen One, marked a transition from earlier studio-made plays like 'Play for Today'. Each episode of Screen Two is a standalone film featuring diverse genres and themes.

概要

'Screen Two' was a significant contribution to British television drama, showcasing a wide range of storytelling talent in both writing and directing. Launched in response to Channel Four's innovative approach, it signaled the BBC's commitment to high-quality filmmaking for television audiences. The series ran from 1985 until 2003, producing over a hundred standalone films that spanned various genres and themes, from adaptations of classic literature to original dramas.
