Mãlina Manovici, born in Bârlad, Romania in 1979, is a Romanian film and theatre actress. She graduated from both the Faculty of Letters (English-French) at 'A.I.Cuza' University of Iași and the Faculty of Music-Acting at West University of Timișoara. Manovici gained prominence after playing her first leading role in the 2016 film Graduation, directed by Cristian Mungiu. She has also appeared in notable films like Lemonade (2018) and Doing Money (2018). On stage, she is associated with the National Theater in Timișoara.

Balaur (2021) is a thrilling drama that weaves Romanian folklore into its narrative. Ecaterina, a dedicated high school Religion teacher and the wife of the town priest, finds herself drawn into an illicit relationship with Iuliu, one of her 16-year-old students who has a troubled past. Despite her initial intentions to keep him under control and help him improve his behavior, Ecaterina begins to lose her own sense of control as their relationship deepens. The film explores the complexities of forbidden love, the struggle between morality and desire, and the consequences of crossing boundaries.

Balaur is a Romanian-German-Serbian thriller-drama directed by Octav Chelaru, released in 2021.
