Rakel Wärmländer began her acting career at age nine in Stockholm's Dramaten theater. After studying theater in New York and graduating from Teaterhögskolan i Malmö, she worked extensively in Swedish television and film. Notable roles include Tina in Skuggornas hus (1996), Pippi Longstocking in a stage production, and the lead in Love and Lemons (2013). She is the daughter of Tom Zacharias and Dorotea Wärmländer, and has two daughters with actor Lars Bringås.

Two young women from disparate backgrounds - a Turkish immigrant named Nazan and a young Swedish woman named Sara - both aspire to join Sweden's police force.
