Maja Ostaszewska, born September 3, 1972 in Kraków, Poland, is an acclaimed Polish actress. Daughter of musician Jacek Ostaszewski, she started her acting career at a young age. Trained in Kraków and graduating from PWST in 1996, Ostaszewska has performed predominantly with Teatr Rozmaitości in Warsaw under renowned directors like Krystian Lupa and Krzysztof Warlikowski. She debuted on film in 1997's 'Przystań', winning a Best Actress Award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia the following year. Ostaszewska also appeared in Steven Spielberg's 'Schindler's List' (1993) during her acting training and was recently part of Andrzej Wajda's Katyń.

ストーリー
In 1988, Polish mountaineer Maciej Berbeka participates in an expedition led by Andrzej Zawada to climb Broad Peak during winter for the first time. Despite escaping death and reaching a summit, it's later revealed that he only made it to the Rocky Summit, 23 meters lower than the actual peak. Disillusioned by his teammates' deception about his achievement, Berbeka retreats from mountaineering. Twenty-four years later, Krzysztof Wielicki, another participant of the original expedition, persuades Maciej to join another Broad Peak endeavor to finish what they started. After much hesitation, Maciej agrees.
