Faye Dunaway, born Dorothy Faye Dunaway on January 14, 1941, is an American actress renowned for her versatile performances. She began her career on Broadway in the early 1960s and made her screen debut in 'The Happening' (1967). Dunaway rose to prominence playing outlaw Bonnie Parker in 'Bonnie and Clyde' (1968), earning her first Academy Award nomination. Her notable films include 'Chinatown' (1974), for which she received her second Oscar nomination, 'Network' (1976) where she won an Oscar for Best Actress, and 'Mommie Dearest' (1981). Barfly follows Henry Chinaski (Mickey Rourke), a struggling writer who lives a bohemian lifestyle in Los Angeles. He spends his days drinking at various bars and his nights fighting against Eddy (Francesco Quinn), a shallow and self-promoting bartender. After being thrown out of his regular bar, Henry discovers Wanda (Faye Dunaway), another barfly who he moves in with despite her promiscuity. Their relationship is tumultuous, but they eventually reconcile. A literary agent then publishes one of Henry's stories, leading him to briefly seduce the agent before returning to Wanda. The agent becomes obsessed with Henry and confronts Wanda at his usual bar, resulting in a catfight that Wanda wins. In the end, Henry celebrates his newfound success by buying drinks for everyone at the bar.
