Alex Meneses was born Alexandra Estella DeAnna Meneses on February 12, 1965, in Chicago to parents of Mexican American and Ukrainian American descent. She studied acting at The Second City Improvisational Theater during summer vacations while growing up. After graduating from high school, Meneses moved to Milan for modeling work, staying there for two years before relocating to Los Angeles. There, she studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute. Meneses is known for her role as Teresa Morales in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and recurring roles on television shows such as Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends. She has also acted in films like Amanda and the Alien.

Wrong Turn at Tahoe follows a small-time criminal named Joshua 'Tahoe' Burger (played by Christian Slater), who operates a profitable but low-level crime operation in Lake Tahoe. When one of his dealers, 'Cherry,' is murdered during a botched deal, Tahoe believes he has eliminated just another local player. However, it soon becomes apparent that Cherry was working for the notorious and powerful crime lord, Vincent Coyle (played by Michael Caine). When Coyle discovers Cherry's death, he sends his ruthless enforcer, The Carver (played by Cuba Gooding Jr.), to eliminate Tahoe and his crew in retaliation. With the help of his girlfriend, Kristin (played by Jonny Lee Miller), and his loyal lieutenant, Tone (played by Elisabeth Shue), Tahoe must navigate this dangerous game of wits and violence to survive Coyle's wrath.
