Leonie Benesch, born on April 22, 1991 in Tübingen, Germany, is an accomplished German actress of French and Transylvanian descent. She attended the Freie Waldorfschule and later studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Benesch's breakthrough role was Eva in 'The White Ribbon' (2009), which won the Golden Palm at Cannes, earning her critical acclaim and awards like the Young Artist Award and New Faces Award. She has since appeared in prominent productions such as 'Babylon Berlin' (2017) as Greta Overbeck, for which she won the German Acting Prize, Netflix's 'The Crown' as Princess Cecilie of Greece and Denmark, and BBC's 'Around the World in 80 Days' (2020). Benesch is currently based in London.
