In New Blood (1999), directed by Michael Hurst, a shocking discovery is made one morning near a farmhouse: eight gunshot victims lie dead, and a wounded man named Alan White (Sir John Hurt) survives. Alan's son Danny (Nick Moran), whom he hasn't seen in eight years, arrives injured with an unusual proposal. Danny was involved in a kidnapping gone wrong with his criminal associates, the 'new blood'. To save his sister awaiting a heart transplant, Danny offers a grim deal: if Alan agrees to pose as a kidnap victim and sacrifice himself, Danny will donate his heart for his sister's transplant upon his capture. If Alan refuses, Danny and his friends face death. With time running out, Alan must decide the fate of his son and his daughter.
