Jessica Harper, born on October 10, 1949, is an American actress and singer who started her film career with notable roles in 'Phantom of the Paradise' (1974), 'Love and Death' (1975), and 'Inserts' (1975). She gained international recognition for portraying Suzy Bannion in Dario Argento's cult classic 'Suspiria' (2018 remake). Throughout her career, Harper has appeared in various films including 'My Favorite Year', 'Stardust Memories', 'Shock Treatment', and 'Minority Report'. Set during the Great Depression in Chicago, Arthur Parker (Steve Martin) is a sheet-music salesman struggling to make ends meet. Despite being married to his sensible but dull wife Joan (Bernadette Peters), Arthur falls for Eileen (Elizabeth McGovern), a charming schoolteacher he meets at a music store. As their affair begins, Arthur's life takes a turn for the worse due to his secret relationship and his inability to sell enough sheet music. Meanwhile, Eileen marries another man while still in love with Arthur, leading to further complications.
