One year after covering up a car accident that resulted in a man's death, four teenage friends - Barbara 'Buzz' Willis, Helen Shivers, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Ryan Philippe - receive threatening notes from an unknown person who knows about their involvement in the crime. Paranoia sets in as they try to keep their secret buried while being stalked by a mysterious killer dressed in a fishermen's rain slicker and wielding a hook. As the group falls apart due to suspicion and fear, each must confront their guilt and find a way to stop the vengeful pursuer before it's too late.
