She started her career as a model and appeared in music videos before making her film debut in 'Kids' (1995). Sevigny gained prominence with her portrayal of Lana Tisdel in the drama 'Boys Don't Cry' (1999), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
