Gore ot uma, the Woes of Wit follows Igor (Yuriy Tsurilo), a talented but unsuccessful criminal mastermind who gets arrested and imprisoned after one of his intricate schemes goes awry. While behind bars, Igor becomes fascinated by a fellow inmate's stories about his childhood in a remote Siberian village. Inspired by these tales, Igor begins to write and publish novels under a pseudonym, gaining unexpected literary fame. When he is finally released from prison after serving his sentence, Igor returns to Moscow with the intention of pulling off one last grand theft. However, his newfound literary success and the attention it brings threaten to derail his plans.
