In 'Doctor Sleep', Danny Torrance, now an adult with the ability to shine, has been drifting since his traumatic childhood at the Overlook Hotel. He finally settles in a small town, working at a nursing home and providing comfort to the dying with his remnant psychic powers. Meanwhile, a group called The True Knot travels across America feeding on children with the shining gift, who they torture slowly to death. When Dan meets the powerful young Abra Stone, her immense ability reignites his dormant demons and summons him to protect her from The True Knot's leader, Rose the Hat.
