She grew up near Los Angeles with her younger brother Clayton. Before graduating high school, she began modeling to save for art school, working initially with Adrian's Teen Modeling Agency in Pasadena before transferring to Nina Blanchard in L.A. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Baker acted in films like 'California Dreaming' (1979) and appeared as a model for Cannon Pictures. She also had roles in television. Around 1993, she stopped acting and modeling, working instead at an art gallery on Melrose Ave., Los Angeles.
