Frank is one of Paris' top firefighters, dedicated to his job with a motto of 'to save or perish'. Married and with newborn twins, Frank's life is seemingly perfect until he faces a critical fire test where he gets severely injured. Miraculously surviving the blaze but with severe burns, Frank awakens in the Serious Burn Unit to find that his face has been severely disfigured and his body forever changed. The story then follows Frank's long and arduous recovery process as he struggles to accept his new appearance and learn to embrace life again.
