In the small fishing town of Hirtshafen on the Baltic shore, a minute's silence is observed at a grammar school in memory of Stella Petersen, the young English teacher who recently passed away. The remembrance takes on a deeply personal significance for one of her students, 18-year-old Christian, as Stella was not just his teacher but also his first love. Through Christian's perspective, we relive their magical summer affair that blossomed during Stella's teaching assignment in Hirtshafen. However, their relationship ends abruptly and tragically, and it is only through Stella's untimely death that her memory becomes immortalized in the town and its inhabitants.
