Emma Stone was born on November 6, 1988, and began her acting career at age eleven with a theatre production of 'The Wind in the Willows'. She relocated to Los Angeles as a teenager and debuted on television in 'In Search of the New Partridge Family' (2004). After minor roles, she gained prominence in teen comedy films like 'Superbad' (2007), 'Zombieland' (2009), and 'Easy A' (2010). She received critical acclaim for her performances in 'Birdman' (2014) and 'The Favourite' (2018), the latter earning her an Academy Award nomination. Stone won Best Actress Oscars for 'La La Land' (2016) and 'Poor Things' (2023). She has also produced films under her company, Fruit Tree, founded in 2020 with husband Dave McCary.

In early 18th century England, during the reign of Queen Anne (Olivia Colman), two friends and rivals, Lady Sarah Churchill (Rachel Weisz) and Abigail Masham (Emma Stone), vie for the Queen's favor.
