Rosa Salazar (/ˈsæləzɑːr/; born July 16, 1985) is an American actress known for her breakthrough role as the title character of 'Alita: Battle Angel' (2019). She has appeared in films like 'The Divergent Series: Insurgent' (2015), 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' and 'Bird Box' (both 2018), and TV shows such as 'American Horror Story: Murder House', 'Parenthood', and 'Undone'. Born to Peruvian father Luis and French-Canadian mother Marilynne Salazar in Washington, D.C., she grew up in Greenbelt, Maryland. She attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School and Prince George's Community College before studying drama at Upright Citizens Brigade.
