In post-Soviet Estonia of 1991, electrical technician Toivo finds himself unwittingly drawn into a daring plot by Russian mobsters to hijack nearly $1 billion in gold bullion that's being transported back home from Paris. As the capital's power is shut down at midnight to facilitate the heist, Toivo's wife gives birth to their child in the hospital, but the lack of electricity puts the baby's life at risk, needing an incubator. Meanwhile, jealousies and infighting within the mob threaten to undermine their plans, putting Toivo in danger along with his family.
