Don Anderson (Brian Geraghty), marketing director for Mickey's fast food chain, is sent to Cody, Colorado after independent research reveals cow feces in their bestselling burger, the Big One. Initially believing the supplier, Oscar Rodenbush (Bob Gunton), is efficient and clean, Don discovers otherwise. He witnesses harsh working conditions for temps like Amber (Ashlyn Santaniello) and immigrant workers exploited by Oscar's son Pete (Ethan Embry). The reality of mass production, from 'dirty' meat to worker exploitation, challenges Don's perception of the industry he serves.
'Fast Food Nation' (2006), directed by Richard Linklater, is a drama based on Eric Schlosser's book. It explores the fast food industry through the eyes of Don Anderson, who uncovers labor abuses and hygiene issues during his investigation in Colorado. The film offers a critical look at mass production, capitalism, and societal complicity in systemic problems.
