Maya Sansa, born on September 25, 1975 in Rome to an Iranian father and Italian mother, began her acting career at age 14. After graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, she debuted in Marco Bellocchio's 'La balia'. She later worked with Bellocchio again in 'Goodmorning, Night' and with Marco Tullio Giordana in 'The Best of Youth'. Sansa was recognized as the new image of Italian cinema by The New York Times in 2004. She won a David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress in 2013 for her role in 'Dormant Beauty'. Maya has a daughter, Talitha, with partner Fabrice Scott and resides in Paris.
