Série noire (1979) follows Franck Poupart, a door-to-door salesman in Paris' suburbs who is slightly neurotic and leading a bleak existence. He crosses paths with Mona, a teenage girl forced into prostitution by her aunt. Moved by Mona's plight, Franck becomes obsessed with saving her from her aunt's clutches.
