Jessica 'Jess' Weixler, born June 8, 1981 in Louisville, Kentucky, graduated from Atherton High School in 1999 and later attended Juilliard. She gained prominence for her role in the comedy-horror film 'Teeth', earning a Breakthrough Award nomination at the Gotham Awards (2007) and winning the Special Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival (2007). Weixler was also notable for her roles in 'The Big Bad Swim' and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'. In 2009, she was named New York Magazine's 'New Indie Queen'. She currently resides in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, New York.

Dawn grows up under the shadow of a nuclear power plant and discovers she has an unusual ability: her vagina possesses teeth that attack anyone who attempts sexual contact with her. This 'curse,' which she considers an adaptation due to her biology class's study on evolution, is hidden from others until it causes unexpected consequences during high school. Dawn pledges to remain chaste until marriage and dates Tobey in group settings to resist temptation. However, things between them take an unexpected turn, leading Dawn to seek help from admirer Ryan.
