Morgan and Jean are commitment-phobic ex-lovers who co-host a true crime podcast focused on female serial killers. When Morgan meets Simone at her food coop shift, she quickly becomes infatuated and enters into a relationship despite warnings from friends that Simone might not be who she claims to be. Jean finds evidence suggesting Simone's deception, but Morgan dismisses it initially.
