In affluent suburban Rio de Janeiro, Jean Cavalcanti, a carefree, 17-year-old high school senior, lives with his parents Hugo and Sônia, sister Nathalie, and servants Rita, Noemia, and Severino. Despite his privileged life, Jean feels neglected by his parents, who are preoccupied with maintaining their upper-middle-class facade. He finds solace in the company of Rita and Severino, with whom he shares intimate conversations and experiences. After meeting Luiza on a public bus ride, Jean begins dating her, unaware that his father has lost his job due to financial issues. Meanwhile, the government implements a quota system for college entrance exams, which could benefit Luiza but disadvantage Jean. As Jean's relationship with Luiza deepens amidst his parents' financial struggles and his own academic concerns, he starts questioning his privileged lifestyle.
