Karen Hassan was born in July 1981 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She grew up among five sisters and was quietly inclined but passionate about acting. After studying drama at Queen's University Belfast, she pursued a professional acting career with appearances in various films and TV shows, predominantly in minor roles. Her breakthrough came when she landed the role of Lynsey Nolan in 'Hollyoaks Later' series one in 2008, which she later reprised as a regular character in 'Hollyoaks' starting August 2010.
