Julie Engelbrecht was born in Paris to actress Constanze Engelbrecht. She began her acting career at age 12, appearing with her mother in 'Adieu, mon ami' (1996). Engelbrecht gained recognition for her role as Valerie Ulmendorff in the miniseries 'Mutig in die neuen Zeiten' (2005-2006), earning a nomination for Best Young Actress.
