Victoria Vetri was born on September 26, 1944, to Italian immigrant parents in San Francisco, California. She attended Hollywood High School and studied art at Los Angeles City College. Beginning her acting career in her teens, she is also a singer, dancer, poet, and guitarist. Notably, she declined the voice dub for Natalie Wood in West Side Story (1961) and auditioned for the role of Lolita but lost it to Sue Lyon. Vetri gained fame for her role as Sanna in 'When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth' (1970), a film set in an ancient world where people coexist with dinosaurs.

In an ancient era where dinosaurs still roam and coexist with humans, a small tribe struggles for survival. To appease their sun-god and protect themselves from deadly creatures, they prepare to sacrifice a young woman named Sanna. However, a sudden storm interrupts the ceremony, allowing Sanna to escape.
