Abigail Rogan, born in England and educated in France, moved to Australia in 1971. She gained prominence as Bev Houghton in 'Number 96' (1972-1973), becoming Australia's top female sex symbol. Post-Numbers 96, she struggled with typecasting, playing similar roles in films and TV shows like 'Class of '74' (1974) and 'The Young Doctors' (1976). She returned to acting in 'Sons and Daughters' (1982-1987), playing Caroline Morrell. Later appearances include 'Neighbours' (1985) and 'Chances' (1991) as Bambi Chute.

Alvin Purple follows Alvin, an ordinary man with an extraordinary problem: women find him irresistibly attractive and chase him relentlessly. Trying to evade his admirers, Alvin seeks psychiatric help. However, the psychiatrists exploit Alvin's situation instead of assisting him, using him as a gigolo to treat other patients.
