Maribel Verdú, born María Isabel Verdú Rollán on October 2, 1970, is a Spanish actress with a career spanning nearly four decades. She began acting at age 13 with 'Captain Sánchez's Crime' (1985). Notable film credits include 'Lovers' (1991), 'Belle Époque' (1992), 'Y tu mamá también' (2001), 'Pan's Labyrinth' (2006), and 'The Blind Sunflowers' (2008). She won two Goya Awards for Best Actress. Y tu mamá también (And Your Mother Too) follows the journey of two teenage friends, Tenoch Iturbide and Julio Zapata, who are feeling restless as their girlfriends embark on a European trip before college. At a family wedding, they meet Luisa Cortés, the married cousin of Tenoch's cousin Jano, recently moved from Spain to Mexico. To impress Luisa, Tenoch and Julio fabricate a story about a secluded beach called la Boca del Cielo (Heaven's Mouth). When Luisa learns of Jano's infidelity and decides to join them on their road trip, the friends must hastily plan a journey towards an uncertain destination suggested by their friend Saba. Along the way, Luisa grapples with her future amidst personal revelations, while Tenoch and Julio confront the changing dynamics of their friendship as they navigate adulthood.
