Barbara Crampton, born on December 27, 1958, began her acting career with a role on the daytime drama 'Days of Our Lives' in 1983. She made her film debut in Brian De Palma's thriller 'Body Double' (1984). Raised Catholic in Vermont, Crampton spent summers traveling with a carnival due to her father's work as a carny. After starting her acting career, she became known for horror films such as 'Re-Animator' (1985), 'Chopping Mall' and 'From Beyond' (both 1986), 'Castle Freak' (1995), 'You're Next' (2011), 'We Are Still Here' (2015), and 'Little Sister' (2016).

Jake Scully returns home to find his girlfriend cheating on him with another man. He moves out and takes a house-sitting job from fellow actor Sam Bouchard, who shows Jake his attractive neighbor Holly Body, who strips nightly with her window open. Jake becomes obsessed with meeting Holly but suffers claustrophobia when he chases off a purse thief through a tunnel. When Jake witnesses Holly's boyfriend being murdered, the police suspect him due to his voyeurism. Jake decides to investigate on his own and uncovers connections between Sam, Holly, and a series of murders. The film culminates in a tense confrontation where Jake must outwit Sam, who is revealed to be the killer.
