Disillusioned police detective Pierre Niemans finds himself used as a scapegoat by his corrupt superior, Chief Inspector Renouard. After being convicted for a crime he didn't commit, Niemans decides to turn the tables on his former colleagues. He embarks on a criminal career while simultaneously gathering evidence against Renouard's corruption. Using his extensive knowledge of police procedures, Niemans successfully pulls off heists targeting organized crime syndicates and becomes known as 'The Cop'.
