In 'Oldeuboi' (2003), Oh Dae-Su, an obnoxious drunkard, is abducted on a rainy night in 1988 and imprisoned in a windowless, dilapidated hotel room for fifteen years. His captors feed, clothe, sedate him, and provide only a TV and journal to keep him going. Released unexpectedly, Dae-Su is tasked with finding his tormentor. The mystery deepens as he uncovers connections between himself, his abductor, and another man named Yoo-Mi, who was kidnapped around the same time but was later found dead. As Dae-Su digs further, he discovers a web of revenge and secrets that will forever change his life.
