Rona De Ricci was born in Italy in mid-January 1965 and began her career as a model in the early 1980s before landing supporting roles in films like 'Rage and Glory' (1984). She moved to the US and attended Lee Strasburg's acting institute, becoming a US citizen. She appeared in 'The Penitent' (1988) and Fleetwood Mac's music video 'As Long as You Follow'. Her notable film role was in 'Pit and the Pendulum' (1991). Dissatisfied with offered roles, she left acting to marry and start a roofing business. She had two sons, born in 2000 and 2004. In 2015, she relocated to Germany after separating from her husband. Unable to find work and estranged from her family, De Ricci wrote an autobiography titled 'Truth & Dare', published posthumously in June 2020 following her death by suicide.

ストーリー
The story unfolds during the Spanish Inquisition era when Maria, a kind-hearted woman, witnesses the public whipping of a child and inadvertently cries out in horror. This act leads to her arrest as a witch by Torquemada, the Grand Inquisitor. Torquemada becomes obsessed with Maria, determined to punish her for the desire she ignites within him. Meanwhile, Maria's husband Antonio desperately tries to save her from this brutal fate.
