Malin Maria Akerman, born on May 12, 1978, in Stockholm, Sweden, is an accomplished actress with a diverse film and television career spanning over two decades. She began her acting journey in Canada and the U.S., appearing in films like 'The Utopian Society' (2003) and 'Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle' (2004). Her breakthrough role came in HBO's mockumentary sitcom 'The Comeback' (2005), followed by notable performances in movies such as 'The Heartbreak Kid' (2007), 'Watchmen' (2009), and '27 Dresses' (2008). She also starred in television series like 'Childrens Hospital' (2010-2016) and 'Trophy Wife' (2013-2014). Akerman was briefly the lead vocalist for alternative rock band The Petalstones before focusing solely on acting. An ambitious young lawyer named Joshua Caldwell is approached by his ex-lover, Emily Hynes, who offers him evidence to build a case against her powerful husband, Arthur, CEO of a large pharmaceutical company. Joshua starts legal proceedings and rekindles his affair with Emily. However, Joshua's boss, Thomas Schaeffer, and Arthur settle the case out of court without informing Joshua. Soon after, Emily is found dead in her apartment. Someone attempts to blackmail Arthur using incriminating photos of him with Emily. Panicked, Joshua leaves Emily's body in her apartment but returns home to find it moved to his house moments before a police raid. A mysterious stranger, later revealed to be hired by Thomas, had taken the body intending to frame Emily's murder on Joshua's wife, Lucy, as revenge for Emily's death. After killing the stranger, Joshua and Lucy agree to keep their secrets hidden from the world.
