In 'El secreto de sus ojos', Benjamin Espósito, a retired Argentine federal justice agent, starts writing a novel based on an old closed case that has long haunted him: the brutal rape and murder of Liliana Coloto. As he revisits the investigation, his assistant Pablo Sandoval's words echo in his mind - 'passion is one thing that cannot be changed in behavior'. While two other suspects were initially considered, Benjamin remains convinced that Isidoro Gómez is the real killer. Despite the case being closed and Gómez's whereabouts unknown, Benjamin can't shake off the feeling of unfinished business. As he reconnects with key players from the past, including his former boss Irene Menéndez-Hastings whom he secretly loves, Benjamin begins to uncover new leads, realizing that the truth might be more complex than he initially thought.
