In World War II, a French woman bears a daughter, Helena, after an affair with a German soldier occupying her village. After the Germans are defeated and their bodies thrown into a nearby lake, they rise as undead zombies ten years later to terrorize the locals. The Mayor, once part of the French Resistance, assembles a posse armed with a flamethrower to combat the living dead threat. Using Helena as bait, they aim to destroy the zombie horde and put an end to their reign of terror.
