Elisabeth Judson Shue, born October 6, 1963, is an American actress known for her roles in 'The Karate Kid' (1984), 'Adventures in Babysitting' (1987), 'Cocktail' (1988), and 'Back to the Future Part II & III' (1989-1990). She won acclaim for her performance as Sera, a prostitute who takes in an alcoholic screenwriter played by Nicolas Cage, in 'Leaving Las Vegas' (1995). Shue has received numerous award nominations throughout her career.

In 'Hollow Man', directed by Paul Verhoeven and released in 2000, a team of scientists led by Dr. Sebastian Caine successfully tests an invisibility serum on animals.
