Anne Louise Hassing, born to Folmer Hassing Nielsen and Linnea Rasmussen, graduated from Statens Teaterskole in 1997. She won a Robert and Bodil for her debut film role in 'The Pain of Love' (1992), followed by another Bodil for 'Idiots'. Notable works include 'Klinkevals', 'Juliane', 'Strisser på Samsø', and 'De pokkers parents'. She starred as Ida in the drama series 'Krøniken' from 2004 to 2007, winning Female TV Actress of the Year three times. She is a Buddhist affiliated with Soka Gakkai and married to musician Peter Hellemann.

In late-16th-century Netherlands, Hendrik Goltzius, a printer and engraver known for his erotic prints, schemes to secure funds from the licentious Margrave of Alsace. Promising an exquisite illustrated book of Old Testament stories with erotic undertones—including Adam and Eve's temptation, Lot and his daughters' incestuous encounter, David and Bathsheba's adultery, Joseph and Potiphar's wife's attempted seduction, Samson and Delilah's betrayal, and John the Baptist and Salome's dance—the enterprising Goltzius convinces the Margrave to finance a printing press. To sweeten the deal, Goltzius offers lavish stage performances of these biblical tales at the Margrave's court by his company, The Pelican Society.
