Irina Björklund, born February 7, 1973 in Danderyd, Stockholm County, Sweden, is a Finnish actress fluent in Finnish, Swedish, French, English, Russian, and Spanish. She moved to Finland with her family as a child and studied at the Theatre Academy of Finland from 1993 to 1996 before being hired by Svenska Teatern. Björklund won the Jussi prize for best leading actress in 'Minä ja Morrison' (1998) and was awarded the Shooting Star prize at the Berlin Film Festival in 2004 for her role in 'Rukajärven tie'. She moved to the United States in 1999, where she lives with her husband Finnish actor Peter Franzén. In 2010, Björklund had a minor role in 'The American' alongside George Clooney.
