Ruth Wilson MBE, born on January 13, 1982 in Ashford, Kent, England, is an English actress known for her roles as Jane Eyre (2006), Alice Morgan in 'Luther' (2010–2013, 2019), Alison Lockhart in the Showtime drama 'The Affair' (2014–2018), and Marisa Coulter in the BBC/HBO series 'His Dark Materials' since 2019. She won a BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Actress for her role in 'His Dark Materials'. Her film credits include 'The Lone Ranger' (2013) and 'Dark River' (2017).
