Ten years after a mining accident on Valentine's Day claimed the lives of twenty-two people, including his friends and girlfriend Sarah, Tom Hanniger returns to his hometown of Harmony following his father's death. Tom plans to sell the Hanniger Mine but finds that Sarah is now married to their friend Axel, who is the local sheriff. Harry Warden, believed to be responsible for the original massacre while in a coma, also resurfaces seeking revenge against those who survived the mine collapse. Accusations fly between Tom and Axel as bodies start piling up again on Valentine's Day, with Tom being framed by Axel while trying to protect Sarah and their son Noah.

'My Bloody Valentine' (2009) is a slasher horror film directed by Patrick Lussier and written by Todd Farmer. It is a remake of the 1981 Canadian film of the same name, directed by George Mihalka. Set in Harmony, a small mining town, the film centers around Tom Hanniger (Jensen Ackles), who returns home after his father's death only to find that a serial killer named Harry Warden (Richard Burgi) has begun targeting those who survived the original massacre ten years ago on Valentine's Day.
