Thirty-one-year-old Gavin still lives with his parents and is painfully shy, but finds himself unexpectedly attracting three women: Lady Minerva Munday, a laid-back socialite living in a basement; Joan, an over-sexed millionairess married to a Greek architect; and Peggy, the homely assistant at Gavin's local barbershop. Despite the attentions of the first two women, Gavin finds himself drawn to Peggy's warmth and genuine nature. As he navigates his newfound romantic prospects, Gavin begins to find his confidence and independence.
'Getting It Right' is a 1989 comedy-drama directed by Randal Kleiser, adapted from Elizabeth Jane Howard's novel of the same name. The film follows Gavin, a socially awkward thirty-one-year-old living with his parents, as he navigates unexpected romantic entanglements with three very different women. Set against the backdrop of late 1980s London, the story explores themes of self-discovery, love, and personal growth. While not a critical or commercial success, 'Getting It Right' offers a charming and heartfelt take on the coming-of-age genre.
