Troubled teenager Ben (16), played by Samuel Schneider, unintentionally confronts his father Heinrich (Tukur), a successful German theatre director staging a play in Marrakech. After a heated argument with his estranged father, Ben gets lost in the city's shadowy Medina and sleazy nightclubs. There he meets Karima (18), a feisty Berber girl portrayed by Hiam Abbass.
