Debra Lynn Messing, born on August 15, 1968, is an American actress known for her breakthrough role as Grace Adler in the NBC sitcom 'Will & Grace' (1998–2006, 2017–2020), earning her numerous Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominations. She reprised this role in the show's revival from 2017 to 2020. Messing also starred in 'Ned & Stacey' (1995–1997) on Fox, 'Prey' (1998) on ABC, 'The Starter Wife' (2007–2008), and 'Smash' (2012–2013). She portrayed Laura Diamond in 'The Mysteries of Laura' from 2014 to 2016. Messing's film credits include 'A Walk in the Clouds' (1995), 'Jesus' (1999), 'The Mothman Prophecies' (2002), and 'Along Came Polly' (2004).

Will & Grace follows the lives of two best friends, Will Truman and Grace Adler, who live together in New York City.
