Julie Engelbrecht was born in Paris to actress Constanze Engelbrecht. She began her acting career at age 12, appearing with her mother in 'Adieu, mon ami' (1996). Engelbrecht gained recognition for her role as Valerie Ulmendorff in the miniseries 'Mutig in die neuen Zeiten' (2005-2006), earning a nomination for Best Young Actress. She has since appeared in various TV movies and films, including 'Rasmus and Johanna' (2008), 'Berlin 36' (2009), and 'Die Tänzerin – Lebe deinen Traum' (2011). In 1427, Lady Maria Van Arnstein learns that her husband Michel was killed in battle against the Hussites. However, she discovers no blood on his sword and believes he might be alive. Meanwhile, the Pope's Great Inquisitor Janus Suppertour expresses desire for Maria to King König Sigismund, who grants him ten days to find Michel before giving Maria away. Maria leaves Hohenstein Castle, heading towards Solkony lands where independent settlers are preparing for war against the Hussites. Along her journey, she meets various leaders and aids in negotiating peace. Unfortunately, Michel has amnesia and doesn't recognize Maria.
