Leighton Marissa Meester, born April 9, 1986 in Fort Worth, Texas, is an American actress and singer known for her role as Blair Waldorf in the popular teen drama series 'Gossip Girl' (2007–12). She has also appeared in several films including 'Country Strong' (2010), 'The Roommate' (2011), 'Monte Carlo' (2011), 'The Oranges' (2011), and 'That's My Boy' (2012). Meester made her Broadway debut in 2014 with the play 'Of Mice and Men'.

Gossip Girl follows the lives of privileged teenagers on New York City's Upper East Side and a Brooklyn outsider who becomes entangled in their world. Serena Van Der Woodsen returns home after a mysterious absence, shaking up the social hierarchy and causing tension between her best friend Blair Waldorf and Serena's former love interest Nate Archibald. Meanwhile, lonely outsider Dan Humphrey from Brooklyn starts attending the same school as these elite teenagers, secretly falling for Serena while hiding his true identity.
