Zoe Hart, a fast-talking New Yorker and top medical school graduate, has her dreams shattered when she's unable to follow in her father's footsteps as a cardio-thoracic surgeon. Seeking a fresh start, Zoe accepts an offer from the enigmatic Dr. Harley Wilkes to join his small medical practice in Bluebell, Alabama.
